What marketing genius in Disney’s licensing department forgot how the movie ended?

Roid Roulette

Rumor has it that there’s another “big name” major league baseball star currently in the appeals process over a failed steroid test. Perhaps this guy is an even “bigger” name than Palmeiro.

Who could it be?

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Yes, that sign is a residential “For Sale” sign for a lot in a new development in Fort Worth. Growing up in Texas, there are three questions I’ve been asked time and again by out-of-staters:

Q – What’s your horse’s name?
A – Volkswagen.

Q – What’s Southfork Ranch like?
A – A whole lot smaller than it looks on TV.

Q – Do you have an oil well in your back yard?
A – Up until now, I’ve always been able to say “No, and I don’t know anyone who does, either. They don’t generally put them in residential areas.”

Guess I need to change my usually glib response now. Maybe I’ll get a horse, too.

Elevator entrapment: Follow-up to the tragedy

Today the building management sent a card to apologize for the fiasco. The staff was really nice, but you just have to laugh at the card. (Click to see a bigger version if you can’t read it.)

BTW: They didn’t give us movie tickets, but Outback gift certificates instead. Apparently we made out better than their usual elevator entrapees. (They said we were the nicest people to get stuck that they can remember.) It’s frightening to think how regularly this must happen that they have pre-printed cards…
